Another Sussex Wedding – Kathryn and Mal

Last Saturday (6th March) and we were off to film Kathryn and Mal’s Wedding in Seaford Sussex; a bitterly cold but sunny day. Usual issue with the vicar who only allowed us to film from half way up the aisle. Unfortunately this meant that for most of the wedding we only had a back view of the bride and groom. However, on the bright side, the church was very well lit with natural light and during the vows the couple faced each other so we got some lovely shots for the wedding video.

Ceremony over and it was off to the Royal Albion Hotel in Brighton for the reception. This hotel directly overlooks the Brighton Pier and seafront, so we were able to combine footage of the reception with touristy views.

We got some good footage during the day and the edit for the wedding video went well. This was helped by some good music choices that worked well with the footage on the video.

The first dance was Adele’s ‘Make You Feel My Love’, one of my favorite tracks. We cut in highlights of the day during slow motion sequences from from the dance which made a nice finish to the wedding video

Harriet and Stephen’s White Wedding

January 1st, 2010 Frank No comments

Our last wedding of the year and the heaviest snowfall for years just two days before! Luckily Saturday 19th December dawned with clear blue skies. Cold, but just like a Christmas card. All the roads were OK, although it got a bit icy when we turned off the main road into Bury village.

The snow covered church and grounds really did look like a scene from begone years, with a brilliant blue sky and yellow setting sun. I forgot to mention that the wedding didn’t start until 3.30 pm, so the day was drawing to a close and getting colder!

140 guests crammed into a the tiny village church to watch Harriet and Stephen tie the knot. Although the church was quite dark, there was a lovely pool of light at the altar steps which created a lovely effect during the vows.

The ceremony over, we emerged into a the half light of a fast approaching night sky, so no time for outside photos. The convoy of cars made its way to the Fitzleroi Barns near Petworth for the reception. A lovely venue with a distinct Christmas feel. We have included a clip of the highlights of the day.

The evening went well with everyone enjoying themselves. The first dance was a little different with Harriet and Stephen doing a short disco routine much to the amusement of their guests. When we left just after the first dance, the evening was in full swing. I would imagine that it was quite a lively finish to the day.

Nikki and James’s Sussex Wedding

Nikki and James’s Wedding 2nd October

We received the following email from Nikki’s father this morning.

I’m sorry it’s taken us so long to get around to writing to you after Nikki and James’ wedding on 2nd October 2009 which you video’d for us all. We cannot praise you enough for the quality of the video, in all its aspects (including capturing the “fly past” by the RAF).  That you managed to catch all of the family, the kids and the bride never stopping smiling would have been great enough, but to capture the speeches (well, the Best man’s) so well and then all of the main parts was also exactly what we had hoped for and then you set it to an outstanding sound track.

The video is everything we could have hoped for, and more, and provides us with wonderful memories of a wonderful day.

Says it all really.

Victoria and Paul’s Wedding

Victoria and Paul’s Wedding from Digital Magic Films on Vimeo.

Last Saturday (16th May) found us at The Goodwood Park Hotel in Sussex to film Victoria and Paul’s wedding. The day had been threatening rain, indeed I passed through a very heavy shower on the way there. Thankfully the skies started to clear, although there was a gale blowing, and the sun started peeping out.

What a lovely venue for a wedding, although easy to get a bit lost as it seems to spread over acres!  The ceremony was held in the Oaks room which looked great with a pink theme.

The day went well, although the strong wind didn’t encourage people to spend longer outside than necessary! So outside footage was limited to the group photo shots. We got so nice footage of the couple together at the lake.

The day ended with a couple of great singers performing a range of songs from ratpack through to the 70s / 80s hits.
