Wedding at Buxted Park – Sussex
What a lovely spring-like day Friday was. A complete contrast to just two weeks ago when we thought we were going to get snowed in while filming a wedding. The sun was out and it was more like early April than the middle of February. So we were off to the Buxted Park, near Ashdown Forset in Sussex for Serena and Lee’s wedding.
The wedding was held in the Orangery, a former giant conservatory where they used to grow – oranges! Having filmed there before, we knew that the light would be lovely if the sun shone – and it did, giving us some fantastic footage during the ceremony. With 125 guests it was very cosy during the ceremony, if some what tight for filming! Due to the lack of space we had to do some nifty footwork during the ceremony – but managed to get the footage OK.
The whole day had a lovely atmosphere with lots of laughter – helped by numerous young children. The speeches were lively with lots of audience participation. An entertaining speech by the Best Man, with some funny one-liners.
The day finished of with some great music and dancing. The DJs using record decks and proper records! Haven’t seen that for many years.
