Grahame and Lesley’s wedding video was filmed at St. Peters and St. Pauls Church, Nutfield in Surrey and the reception held at The Burford Bridge Hotel, Dorking.
Although it threatened rain all day, the only time we all got a little wet was, unfortunately, when the couple exited the church after the ceremony! The sun came out in the afternoon for the group and individual photos.
We have used some advanced colour effects throughout this sequence to give a more filmic look and feel. The effect combines black and white footage with a subtle colour effect the emphasizes skin tones. Although the clip is only 3 minutes or so long, it actually took over an hour to ‘render’ because of the effects!
Last Saturday (20th June) and we headed off for Northbrook Park near Farnham for Blaine and Rebecca’s wedding. We started the day by meeting the groom and ushers at the Bull pub for a pre-wedding drink (them, not us!!!) We had a couple of minutes so decided to film a quick Reservoir Dogs sequence (shown above) corny, but fun and different.
Once we finished filmed the lads we moved on to Northbrook. The first time here and I was impressed. From a film-makers viewpoint it was ideal. Very light and bright and lots of varied locations – a lovely venue with Pea-cocks ambling around. Rebecca’s Dad has a great hobby – he builds custom Hot-Rods and there were three of them outside the venue. Amazing cars!
As I said, a lovely venue and with an orange theme the wedding room looked amazing. During the ceremony we were entertained by a very impressive quartet of female singers. They sang as Rebecca and the bridesmaids came into the room as well as during the ceremony and while the registers were signed.
After the ceremony the photographer, Damiom Bailey, took the couple away for some shots. During this session we got some really nice footage. towards the end two black Labradors appeared and run towards the couple. They were Blaine and Rebecca’s family pets. So it added something different to the footage. I have to say, it’s the first wedding I have been to were the family pets have been guests! Lovely dogs and extremely well behaved.
During the drinks reception a magician entertained the guests. It was a sunny afternoon set in an enclosed walled garden. A great atmosphere and people were clearly enjoying themselves. The photographer, Damiom, was a great guy, loads of personality. He worked at a great pace but seemed to get the best out of people, we got some terrific shots – I bet the photos look good.
During the wedding breakfast, the guests were entertained by James Deane, a really impressive live acoustic musician. James played for an hour or so, covering some of the real classic Bob Dylan numbers as well as modern tracks.
The day finished (for us) with Blaine and Rebecca’s first dance to ‘Better’ by Boyzone. This was enthusiastically received by the guests. It was clear by look at Blaine and Rebecca that they had had a great day. We got some really good footage and are now half way through the edit
The opening title sequence of Sonia and Bruce’s wedding video filmed at The Barnsgate Manor, Sussex on 24th May 2009. Yet another glorious sunny day. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come as the last couple of seasons have always had the best of weather! This is a lovely venue surrounded by beautiful Sussex countryside.
We are still working on the video, by this gives a taster of things to come. Because the weather was so nice, there is loads of great outside footage as well as the usual inside shots – so it gives us plenty of variety in the final edit.
Tuesday 9th June Update. Sonia and Bruce’s wedding video is now finished and even if I say so myself it has come out well with some lovely footage. I think we have managed to captured the mood and atmosphere of the day. Below is a clip of the first dance and highlights from the day.
