Choosing Music For Your Wedding Video
We offer our clients their own choice of music on their wedding videos. However, if you are choosing your own music it is important to give it some thought. The music soundtrack on wedding videos is very important. It sets the style, pace and mood of the video.
Music is used in films (and wedding videos) to create mood, pace and atmosphere. So therefore the initial stage is to decide what type of wedding video you want; what sort of atmosphere you are hoping to create and what sort of pace you are aiming for. It is worth spending some time choosing the type of music that will create the feel you are hoping for. Find out more about filming and editing styles.
There is no right or wrong music for wedding videos. It all depends on what style of video you are aiming for. So the initial step when choosing music for your wedding video is to decide what sort of feel are you hoping to create. Are you looking for a slower, more relaxed feel, or perhaps something with a bit more energy, pace and bubble?
We will edit your wedding video to match the pace and style of the music, so slower music tracks will lend themselves to longer clips, fades and dissolves and slow motion, creating a more reflective, relaxed feel. Conversely, faster tracks will lend themselves to faster cutting, shorter clips and other effects, creating more energy, pace and excitement.
In general, wedding videos are better if they have changes of pace and mood throughout, so therefore a variation in music types is usually preferred.
There is no right or wrong music for weddings videos. It is simply a tool to achieve a particular atmosphere or feel and provided it achieves what you want it is the right choice for you. With this in mind we would ask you to supply 12-15 music tracks of varying types and pace. This gives us choice when we are editing to select the appropriate music that will work with the footage we have captured. Alternatively, you can leave it to us to select the music.
